Senior Public Relations Lead
The Quell Group seeks an experienced public relations professional to lead and execute PR and media strategies that amplify our clients’ stories and strengthen their brands. You’ll counsel clients on editorial strategies, create engaging content, manage media relations, and build strong partnerships with journalists and influencers to expand client reach. This role requires a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, as well as a strong understanding of each client’s business goals and target audiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Editorial Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement PR campaigns, blending traditional and digital media, for media relations, crisis management and marketing communications.
- Content Creation: Plan, write, edit and oversee content for websites, blogs, press releases, featured articles, technical papers, and social media that integrates the client’s brand voice and unifies client communications across all platforms and channels.
- Counsel, Guide & Prepare: Work with client executives and spokespersons (SMEs) to represent their companies through traditional and digital media channels. Provide media training and interview preparation.
- Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers and community leaders. Identify opportunities, pitch client stories, and manage media opportunities.
- Reputation Management: Enhance online reputations by managing Google reviews, optimizing search visibility and community feedback to build positive digital profiles.
- Community Relations: Partner with clients to identify opportunities for grassroots campaigns and align PR strategies with community and organizational goals.
- Crisis Management: Provide strategic counsel and execute crisis communications to protect and enhance client reputations.
- Analytics: Use analytics tools, social media platforms and monitoring software to track and optimize campaign performance.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of public relations experience (B2B, health care and technical industry experience preferred)
- Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills across a variety of disciplines – from press releases and by-lined articles to speeches and social media
- Proven experience in media relations, reputation management, brand strategy, message mapping and content creation
- Proficiency with analytics tools, media databases, monitoring and campaign reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in PR, journalism, communications, or a related field (APR a plus)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with an aptitude for staying informed about current affairs relating to client business
- Experience with new business development preferred
